Nokia 6 (2017) Gets Android 9 Pie Update as Promised The original Nokia 6 was launched in India back in January 2017. The Nokia phone comes packed with a 5.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. On the hardware front, the Nokia 6 is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor and the phone is further paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. On the camera front, the Nokia 6 (2017) includes a single camera on both the front and back. On the rear panel, the phone includes a 16MP camera while on the front the phone includes an 8MP camera for selfies. On the software front, the Nokia 6 was launched running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Some months after the launch the smartphone was upgraded to Android Oreo, now Android 9 Pie is coming to the phone. The software update is expected to roll out in a phased manner. To recall, the Nokia 8 was launched in the month of August in 2017. The Nokia phone was launched running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and it was later upgraded to Oreo and now to Pie. For the Nokia 8 too, the Android 9 Pie software update rollout may happen in a phased manner. Late in December 2018, HMD announced that it’s pushing Android 9 Pie update to the Nokia 8, but the rollout was halted due to some VoLTE related issues with Indian carriers. Now HMD seems to have fixed the bug and the update is reaching Indian users of Nokia 8.
